Beginning with Rosh Chodesh Iyar, Monday, May 9, and continuing
until Lag B'Omer, Wednesday night, May 25, the first hour of the Monday-Friday editions of The Mix will consist entirely of Acapella music. An exception wil be on Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel Independence Day), Thursday May 12, when Radio-J will once again present it's annual 24 hour musical salute to Israel.
This time period on the Jewish calendar, corresponds
with the period of Sefirat HaOmer which is observed as music-free by according to all customs.
Enjoy music-free, vocal-only recordings from The Maccabeats, Yeshiva Boys Choir, Ari Goldwag, AKA Pella, Beat'achon, Kol Zimra, Six13 and more.
The second hour of The Mix and all other programming on Radio-J, will continue to offer a
blend of both acapella and musical selections. The Mix airs Mon-Fri at
noon, 6PM, midnight, and 6 AM EDT (UTC-4) on Radio-J.com.
